Democrats Want Special Session, Some Republicans Say No

AUSTIN -- Some Republican lawmakers don't want to move forward with a special session to restore public education funding.

Texas Democrats and school groups have urged Governor Rick Perry to call a special session, but House Appropriations Committee Chairman Jim Pitts said yesterday that there isn't, quote, "an appetite to go back in and undo what we did during session."  House Democratic Leader Jessica Farrar says suggesting there is no "appetite" to fix school finance is just wrong.

She says House Democrats are ready to undo the, quote, "mess that Republican budget writers created last year."
