American State Bank Merges With Prosperity Bank

LUBBOCK -- A West Texas bank will soon be part of the largest bank focused solely on the Lone Star State.
American State Bank announced Monday that it's merging with Houston-based Prosperity Bank to create the largest bank focused solely on Texas.
The deal is reportedly worth $529.2 million.
Once the merger is it's completed, American State Bank will take prosperity bank's name.
