RUIDOSO, NM -- Four Odessans are lucky to be alive, after they crashed their car off a cliff in New Mexico.

The Ruidoso News reports that the four people had just arrived in Ruidoso, NM from Odessa when the incident occurred around 4:30 PM on February 23rd.

The Odessans were sightseeing in a dDdge Charger when the car went off a mountain road and slid down a cliff.

A tree stump, some wood and bushes stopped the Dodge Charger from falling all the way down the mountain. Ruidoso Police say the debris that stopped the car's fall likely saved everyone's lives.

The driver -- who said his name was Tristan Mathis -- got a ticket for driving without a license.

Police believe Mathis took his eyes off the road before the crash happened.
