GOP Campaign Crunch Time

By: Big 2 News Staff
Updated: March 2, 2012
The last four Republican Presidential contests have gone to Mitt Romney. He's now looking to go into Super Tuesday with the momentum on his side.

But before that happens, he'll have to face off with his rivals in Washington state.

At a rally  just ahead of Saturday's caucuses Rick Santorum said, "You folks have an opportunity to reset this race on Saturday. Before Super Tuesday, Washington speaks."

Mitt Romney and Ron Paul are campaigning in the state today. The only candidate not making a stop in Washington is Newt Gingrich.

Who is continuing to campaign in Georgia, where he served as a Congressman for 20 years. It's one of the 10 states voting on Super Tuesday.

In the end, it will come down to delegate counts. Currently Romney has the lead, but that could all change on Super Tuesday when 437 delegates are up for grabs.

Romney will go into the Washington caucuses with sort-of an endorsement from the states largest daily newspaper.

The Seattle Times picked him as the "default choice" for Republican voters.

The editorial board said he has the best chance to beat Obama but that he was "his own biggest impediment."
