UPDATE - July 5, 2012: Texas Department of Public Safety officials tell Big 2,  the man who allegedly caused the crash -- Ruben Montes-Garces -- has a Mexican Commercial Drivers License. That license is also valid in Texas.

GLASSCOCK COUNTY -- The Glasscock County Sheriff's office has released the names of young adults from Midland killed in an 18-wheeler versus pickup truck accident Tuesday.

Glasscock County Sheriff Keith Burnett tells Big 2 that Jacob Power and Bryan McBride were killed in the crash, which happened around 5:30 PM Tuesday at F.M. 2401 and F.M. 1357.

Power, 18, and McBride, 28, were both in a pickup truck that was hit by an 18-wheeler at the intersction.

Burnett tells Big 2 that the driver of the 18-wheeler belly dump truck -- Ruben Montes-Garces -- ran the stop sign at F.M. 2401, slamming into the Chevy 4-door pickup truck on F.M. 1357. Sheriff Burnett says the impact was so powerful, the pickup truck was pushed underneath the 18-wheeler.

Glasscock County Sheriff's deputies say Garces, 41, was "test driving" the big-rig, to possibly purchase it.

It's unclear to whom or what company the 18-wheeler belonged.

Sheriff Burnett added Garces is a Mexican National and does not appear to have a drivers license.

However, Thursday, Texas Department of Public Safety Officials told Big 2 that Garces has a Mexican Commercial Drivers License. The Mexican C.D.L. is also valid in Texas.

Burnett says Garces was arrested on the scene. He is facing two counts of involuntary manslaughter.
