Martin County Car Hauler Fire Causes TX 349 Delays

MARTIN COUNTY -- A car hauler fire led to some major delays along a major road between Midland and Lamesa Tuesday.
TXDOT officials say that a car hauler caught fire along TX 349 about 6 miles north of TX 176 early Tuesday afternoon.
Firefighters had to close a lane on TX 349 in the area, in order to put out the fire and clean up the burned vehicle.
The lane closure meant that traffic in both directions alternated moving along the other lane of TX 349 in the area.
While one direction of traffic traveled on the open lane, oncoming traffic was stopped.
Firefighters were able to put out the fire and clean up the burned truck by around 3:15 PM Tuesday.
TXDOT officials say there was no damage to the roadway or state property.
No injuries were reported due to the fire.
The cause of the blaze was unknown Tuesday.
