MIDLAND -- Blue Star Family looking for new members to join their group. Anyone who has a family member who is currently serving in any branch of the military is a blue star family member and are welcome.  The organization presents all new families with their own blue star service flag to display in their window.  Blue Star family is a small group of people who have loved ones on active duty in the military.  The meetings generally last less than an hour.  Members fellowship with each other, open with a prayer, give updates on our loved ones, occasionally discuss something that might affect us (like the Hunt for Heroes...some of us volunteer to help, etc.), eat cookies and drink tea that First Presbyterian prepares for them, and then adjourn.

What is a Blue Star Family? - There are currently millions of active duty, Reserve and National Guard Service members serving our country.  Each of them leaves behind a family when they deploy - a family that participates in the service members' sacrifice but is often overlooked by government and civilian organizations.

The purpose of the organization is to raise the awareness of the challenges of military family life with active duty military and offer support and encouragement to all blue star family members.
