More West Nile Cases Reported In Odessa, Big Spring

MIDLAND -- More cases of West Nile Virus have been reported in West Texas.

    Officials with Medical Center Hospital tell Big 2 that they're treating another patient for the virus.

    M.C.H. has now treated 12 patients West Nile Virus.

    Six of those patients are from Ector County, while 1 is from Reeves County and 5 are from Andrews County.

    Meanwhile, The Big Spring Herald reports that Scenic Mountain Medical Center in Howard County got its first West Nile Virus patient on September 13th.

    The patient reportedly got the disease in Mitchell County.

    At least 25 cases of the virus have been reported in Andrews, Dawson, Ector, Glasscock, Martin, Howard, Midland, Presidio and Reeves counties in the past few months.

    Three West Texans -- a Midland County resident, an Ector County resident and an Andrews County resident -- have died from the virus.
