Shell has halted their oil drilling operation in waters off the coast of Alaska.

They decided to stop the drilling after they discovered a piece of equipment needing repair.

The company is treading carefully with their controversial operation amid protests from environmentalists and Alaskan natives.

Those against the plans say it's too risky, and endangered wildlife that inhabit the Chukchi Sea are being threatened.

Shell, however, says it plans to resume work as soon as possible.
