ODESSA --   The West Texas Talent Search, is now narrowed down to 25 semi-finalists. The mission of the West Texas Talent Association is twofold:  To showcase, train, and promote local talent. This is done primarily through our two annual events, our contest "The West Texas Talent Search" and our musical theater plays "Music, Mayhem, and Madness"; while donating a percentage of the profits from these events to local charities whose goals are to benefit the educational, cultural, and social needs of the people of West Texas.

The West Texas Talent Search was created in 2009 by Daniel R. Ryan III. It was followed by the creation of the West Texas Talent Association in 2010 with the help of Angela Williamson. In  2010 the West Texas Talent Association made a studio CD, performed at three CHL Odessa Jackalopes games, staged the West Texas Talent Showcase, performed for the ECISD retired teachers association, and ended 2010 by counting down the New Year at the Midland Center's Family New Year's Eve Celebration sponsored by PADP. 2011 was highlighted with Daniel Ryan continuing his support of local artist by creating the Music, Mayhem, and Madness shows. Now in 2012 The West Texas Talent Association is producing a new YouTube news magazine "Odessa After Dark.
