TXDOT Promoting Child Seat Safety With Demonstation In Odessa

AUSTIN -- TXDOT is embarking on a new campaign to encourage proper child seat safety.
The Save Me With A Seat campaign coincides with National Child Passenger Safety Week.
The public awareness effort culminates with National Seat Check Saturday on September 22nd.
Odessa Police and Odessa Fire and Rescue officials held a child safety demo at the Odessa Central Fire Station on Wednesday.
Officials also discussed the booster seat laws at the event.
Kids younger than 8-years-old -- or shorter than 4'9" -- must be in some sort of child restraint at all times while in a vehicle.
Vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for children 14 and younger nationwide.
