SEMINOLE -- At least 400,000 gallons a day.

That's how much water the city of Seminole has agreed to sell Gaines County.

City leaders described the deal as a win-win proposition.  It provided the county with the water they need, and also provides Seminole with additional revenue.

The water will be pumped to the Gaines County Golf Course and eventually the Gaines County Park. All county and city residents will be paying for the water that's used.

County leaders had already approved the purchase, saying this would be more cost-effective than trying to go out and acquire water rights.

The pipeline construction could take about four to eight months to finish.
