Fort Stockton I.S.D. To Buy 6 New Vehicles

FORT STOCKTON -- Fort Stockton I.S.D. will soon have 6 new vehicles in its fleet.

The Fort Stockton Pioneer reports that the district will purchase two passenger cars, two vans and two 72-passenger buses.

The buses will reportedly be purchased directly from Buyboard -- the government-purchasing cooperative for Texas schools.

However, if a bus quote from Buyboard is between $1,000-$2,000 of a bus quote from a Fort Stockton-area vendor, F.S.I.S.D. can buy from the area vendor instead.

The district ultimately decided to buy two air-conditioned 72-passenger Longhorn buses by International from Buyboard for $179,152.

Fort Stockton I.S.D. will buy a Chevrolet Impala from Amistad Motors for $20,098 and a Ford Taurus from Stockton Ford for $21,800.

The district will also purchase two new Ford E150 vans from Buyboard for $36,672.
