CAF's 2012 AIRSHO is Fastly Approaching

MIDLAND -- The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) is excited to announce the 49th Annual CAF AIRSHO presented by Western National Bank, is October 1314, 2012 at Midland International Airport between Midland and Odessa, Texas.

There is something for everyone to enjoy this year at the Best Warbird Show in America! AIRSHO will feature a Super Saturday Show - 7 hours of day to night entertainment! Saturday's show begins at 1 p.m. and features the highflying aerobatic demonstrations of Aeroshell Aerobatic Team and Julie Clark in the T34 Mentor, plus the Indy Boys' jetpowered school bus and exploding outhouse! To add to the show, the living history reenactors will be on the field while CAF's TORA TORA TORA and warbirds including P51 Mustangs and the B29 FIFI perform.

The Aeroshell Aerobatic Team will take to the West Texas skies in their North American AT6 Texans performing deathdefying aerobatic stunts in perfect unison. Visitors who like smoke and noise are sure to enjoy this act! The Jet School Bus, another act that shouldn't be missed, will entertain kids young and old as it roars down the runway trailed by 80foot flames at speeds up to 367 mph only to be stopped by a parachute. Guests will be mesmerized by Julie Clark as she performs graceful aerobatics in her T34 Mentor. All three performers will take their acts from day to night as they light up the skies for the AIRSHO Night Show.

"AIRSHO 2012 continues to raise the bar! In addition to our amazing performers, we will have some of the most famous World War II and Modern Military Aircraft on display" said AIRSHO Chairperson Gena Linebarger. "Aside from watching the show, there are plenty of interactive, fun things to do at AIRSHO. Visitors can purchase once in a lifetime rides in select aircraft, kids can enjoy the new aviationthemed kid's play area complete with inflated bouncers and aircraft flight simulators and the CAF Airpower Museum will be open free of charge all weekend."

Advance tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children ages 612. Purchase advance tickets online now at www.airsho.org. Tickets sold at the gate will be $20 for adults and $5 for children. Children age five and under enter for FREE. Parking is an additional $5 per vehicle, with partial proceeds benefiting the local Boy Scouts of America.

On Saturday, Oct. 13 and Sunday, Oct. 14, the CAF AIRSHO gates will open to the public at 8:30 a.m. to give attendees plenty of time to view the static aircraft before the flying begins. CAF AIRSHO is proud to bring the historic warbirds of the CAF fleet along with modern military aircraft to the public.
