Six Children Bitten by Loose Dogs

ODESSA -- Odessa Police confirming a dog biting incident involving several children near Cavazos Elementary.

Reports show Animal Control was notified that two children had been bitten by a German Shepherd. Officers say there was apparently two German Shepherds but only one bit the children. Animal Control responded to the area but was unable to locate the animals.

At 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Animal Control was notified that the same two dogs had returned and bit four more children. Animal Control responded and was able to locate the animals and take them into custody. The children received minor injuries and one of the six children suffered an injury to the shoulder.

Two of the children are 11 years of age and four children are 6 years of age. The dog that actually bit the children was euthanized and will be sent to Austin. Citations are pending.
