It all started in 1940 as the Little International Oil Show. But with over 700 exhibitors and 400 more on the waiting list, this year's oil show is anything but little. In fact, it's the biggest to date, and people are expected to come from all around the world to check out the latest and greatest in oilfield technology.
Don Gregory, this year's PBIOS president, says no matter what area of the industry you work in, there will be something at the show for everyone to see. "Whether you're in the gas compression business, you're in the well servicing business, you're in production drilling...There's equipment out here that's going to be relevant for your job that you can look at and see new things and talk to people," said Gregory.
Gregory says this year's oil show has been sold out for well over a year now.
It's not open to the public, so if you haven't registered you'll want to tune into Big 2 news every day this week. We'll be covering everything from the opening ceremonies to newest technology we find inside the show gates. That coverage kicks off Tuesday at 5pm.
You can also find a lot more, including complete, uncut interviews on permianbasin360.com.
