Texas State University Bomb Threat Evacuations

"Texas State University police, in consultation with the Austin Police Department Bomb Squad, have cancelled the emergency alert after a bomb threat on the Admissions Building earlier today.The Tower and San Jacinto residence halls have been reopened. The Admissions Building will remain closed Thursday as a precaution.All classes will be held according to normal schedule."
SAN MARCOS -- Students and staff members were evacuated at Texas State University Thursday Morning due to a possible bomb threat. Communications Specialist Jayme Blaschke with Texas State University says the evacuations were made due to a threat recieved by the University thru e-mail. Blaschke says the threat was specifically made towards the admissions building. The admissions building and two adjacent residence halls (Tower and San Jacinto) were the only buildings evacuated. Classes have not been canceled. The Austin Bomb squad was called out to the Texas States campus along with the FBI. Blacschke says the University is keeping a close eye on the situation and if any developments arise they will inform their students through the university text message alerts, e-mail, and social media.
