According to The Lamesa Press Reporter, the Dawson County District Attorney's Office has returned $27,603 it seized from a man who was stopped by law enforcement personnel in Dawson County.
A background check on the man reportedly showed that he had a prior arrest for illegal drugs, but an investigation showed that the money came from the sale of some equipment out of a restaurant that the man owned.
Meanwhile, the Dawson County District Attorney's Office also returned $1,500 cash to a woman who was stopped by law enforcement personnel in Dawson County.
The woman had reportedly told law enforcement that she got the money by performing prostitution acts, but there was no proof of the woman ever being involved with prostitution.
