ODESSA -- A man is accused of crashing his car on railroad tracks in Odessa and trying to run from police at the scene.

Angel Miguel Diaz, Jr. was arrested around 1:15 AM Thursday.

Odessa Police say that Diaz, 24, got his white 1996 Ford Crown Victoria stuck on the railroad tracks after a crash near the intersection of Foster Avenue and West Murphy Street around 1 AM Thursday.

When officers arrived on scene, they say Diaz and a woman were standing by the Crown Victoria.

As officers approached Diaz, they say he grabbed the woman and took off running.

The woman was reportedly able to break away from Diaz, but police say he kept running away from them.

Police eventually found and arrested Diaz near West 4th Street and McKinney Avenue.

Now, Diaz is charged with misdemeanor parking on the railroad tracks and misdemeanor evading arrest.

As of Thursday afternoon, Diaz wasn't listed in jail records in the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
