MIDLAND--- The Pecan Tree Partners had a grand opening of their shelling plant in Midland on Monday.

The plant will buy, sell and shell pecans as well as offer gourmet pecan treats on site and online.

Silviano H. Garcia is the 24-year-old president of the company and says it's been a dream of his and his father's to open this new facility.

"It feels pretty good to have something that you can say is yours" says Garcia "Doing it for the public was something I wanted to do".

People with pecan trees can gather the nuts and bring them in to Pecan Tree Partners to have them weighed and exchanged for money.

The shelling plant also offers fresh pecan oil, great for cooking.

Garcia's father has been in the pecan business for more than 25 years and now they are able to bring that love to the Permian Basin with the opening of their new facility on North CR 1176 in Midland.
