ODESSA -- A Denver City woman is accused of robbing a supermarket and beating up employees who tried to stop her.

Suzanne McMahan was arrested on October 25th.

Odessa Police say that McMahan, 52, went into the Lowe's Supermarket in the 800 block of West Clements Street around 3:15 PM on October 25th and stuffed about $30 worth of food in her purse.

An employee reportedly tried to stop McMahan, but officers say she threw her purse at the employee and ran out of the store.

The employee reportedly ran after McMahan, but she reportedly punched the employee in the chest when they got close.

A second employee and a store manager also tried to track McMahan down, but she reportedly punched and spat at them while telling them she had a gun.

Now, McMahan is charted with robbery.

As of Monday evening, McMahan was being held in the Ector County Law Enforcement Center on $35,000 bond.
