1 Injured In Home Invasion Robbery And Shooting In Midland

MIDLAND -- Midland Police are investigating a home invasion and shooting that injured 1 person.

    Officers tell Big 2 that  3 to 4 people broke into a home at 3119 Roosevelt Drive through the back door around 3:55 PM Tuesday.

    One person was shot in the leg, but that person was not critically injured.

    In fact, the shooting victim was able to take himself to the hospital.
   
    Police say were looking for 3 to 4 suspects with a K-9 team Tuesday.

    Eyewitnesses also told Big 2 that a police chopper was up in the air Tuesday afternoon.
 
    Midland I.S.D. Chief of Police David Colburn tells Big 2 that Lamar and Long Elementary schools were on lockdown Tuesday afternoon.

    However, parents were able to pick up students from both elementary campuses.

    Colburn personally took home students whose parents from both schools couldn't make it to the school Tuesday afternoon.
