Arrests Made In San Angelo In Connection With Fatal Big Spring Shooting

SAN ANGELO -- Multiple arrests have been made in San Angelo, in connection with a shooting that left one man dead and another injured in Big Spring.

    Howard County Sheriff Stan Parker says that Christopher Daniel Marquez, Romero Marquez and Gomezindo Diaz were arrested in the 1900 block of Sherwood Way in San Angelo around 4 PM Wednesday.

    The arrests were made in connection with a shooting happened in the 500 block of Driver Road in Big Spring (outside the old V.F.W. building).

    The shooting -- which happened around 2:30 AM on October 27th -- claimed the life of  33-year-old Luis Adolfo Pena.

    Raul Mendez was also injured in the shooting. Mendez, 33, was later treated for his injuries at Scenic Mountain Medical Center and released.

    A warrant was issued for the arrest of Christopher Marquez, 19, on October 28th -- in connection with the shooting, but deputies were previously unable to locate Marquez.

    Marquez is now officially charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

    Meanwhile, Christopher Marquez's brother Romero Marquez and Gomezindo Diaz were both armed at the time of the arrests.
  
    Romero Marquez and Diaz are now charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon.

    Diaz is also charged with possession of marijuana.

    All 3 men were being held in the Tom Green County Jail Wednesday.

    Howard County Sheriff's deputies, San Angelo Police, U.S. Marshals and Texas Rangers teamed up to make the arrests Wednesday.
