Updated: November 1, 2012
AUSTIN -- The Texas Department of Public Safety has substantially raised the reward for information leading to the capture of a fugitive with Gaines County ties.

D.P.S. officials are now offering a $17,500 reward for information provided in November that leads to the arrest of Josue M. Reyna.

There have been active arrest warrants out for Reyna since November 22, 2011 --  but the Lubbock native remains at large.

Reyna, 22, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and retaliation -- after he allegedly fired shots at an occupied home in Lubbock.

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers say Reyna might be hiding out in West Texas, Southwest Texas or Coahuila, Mexico.

Reyna reportedly has a violent criminal history, and officials say he has family ties across Texas -- including family in Seminole and Brownfield.

Additionally, some of Reyna's family members could reportedly be tied to a Mexican drug cartel.

D.P.S. officials say that Reyna is 5'9" tall, and he weighs about 145 pounds.

Anyone with information of Reyna's whereabouts should call the D.P.S. Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).
