Here is the full release from the Midland County Sherriff's Office:

On 10-28-12 at 0444 am Midland County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the Emergency Room at Midland memorial hospital reference to a victim of a stabbing brought in by private vehicle.  The victim, a 17 year old male (Midland High student) had approximately 20 stab wounds, 3 of which were life threatening and required immediate surgery.

A witness to the incident took Midland County Deputies to a residence at 8300 West County road 116 where they discovered a lot of blood outside the home and blood trails leading to the front door of the residence.  Deputies entered the residence finding about 12 juveniles inside.  Witnesses stated there was a fight between the victim and a subject from Odessa named IVAN GALINDO that started in the kitchen and was taken outside where the fight was eventually broken up.  At the time of the fight approximately 40-50 juveniles were at a party (alcohol was involved) hosted by a 17 year old member of the residence.  The owners of the residence were in Mexico at the time.  Deputies conducted an investigation starting on 10-28-12 collecting evidence and statements from witnesses and the alleged actor.  After the victim came out of recovery Deputies were able to take a statement and collectively using the evidence and statements a warrant was obtained on the actor IVAN GALINDO, 18 years of age, 13100  South Barcelona, Odessa, for ATTEMPTED MURDER from Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2, David Cobos.

At approximately 11:00 pm on 11-2-12 at the Port of Entry in Presidio Texas, Agents with the United States Customs were checking Southbound traffic when they observed a vehicle with two subjects acting very nervous.  Customs agents ran a check on the two subjects and discovered a warrant for ATTEMPTED MURDER on IVAN GALINDO who was taken into custody.  The other subject, 22 year old CHRISTIAN JAVIER GALINDO, brother to Ivan, after being interviewed by the Presidio authorities, was arrested for Hindering Apprehension of a known Felon.  Both subjects were taken to the Presidio County Jail in Marfa.  IVAN GALINDO's bond has been set at $100,000 by Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 David Cobos and is awaiting transfer to the Midland County Jail.

The 17 year old stabbing victim remains in Midland Memorial hospital where he is recovering in good condition.
