Midland, Odessa Continue To See Increases In Sales Tax Revenues Into Holiday Shopping Season

MIDLAND -- Both Midland and Odessa are continue to see an increase in sales tax revenue.

    Odessa got $3,487,414.81in sales tax revenues for November (including the Economic Development sales tax of 1/4 cent).

    The Odessa Development corporation will receive $697,482.96 of the revenues, while the City of Odessa will receive $2,789,931.85.

    November's sales tax revenues for the City of Odessa represent at 15.46 percent increase ($373,509.22 ) from November 2011's sales tax figures.

    The City of Odessa has collected $25,240,023.00  in sales tax revenues for the 2012-2013 fiscal year to date.

    Odessa's fiscal year-to-date figures are 15.84 percent ($709,319.66 ) above the numbers for the 2011-2012 fiscal year at this time.

    Meanwhile, the City of Midland received $3,306,850 in sales tax revenues for November.

    Midland's revenues -- which come from the Texas Comptroller's Office -- represent a 17.46 percent increase ($491,652 ) from November 2011's sales tax figures.

    The City of Midland has collected $6,205,952 in sales tax revenues in the 2012-2013 fiscal year (which started in October 2012 for the Tall City).

    Midland's fiscal year-to-date figures are 16.64 percent ($885,284 ) above the numbers for the 2011-2012 fiscal year at this time.

    November sales tax revenues are based off of September sales.
