ODESSA -- At least 2 people are injured in a series of crashes on the east side of Odessa.

The incidents happened near the intersection of Faudree Road and Dorado Drive around 4:30 PM Wednesday.

Witnesses tell Big 2 that two cars got into a minor accident at the intersection.

Another vehicle also reportedly stopped in the area, so the driver could help out the people in that crash.

However, another driver didn't see the stopped vehicles, and that driver's vehicle reportedly barreled into them.

Witnesses say the driver who caused the second, more serious crash was using their phone while driving.

"I mean, I ride a bike every day around the Midland-Odessa area, and it scares me because of stuff like this -- people texting and driving and talking on their phone," a witness -- who did not want his name released -- told Big 2. "Just like earlier when they started directing traffic again, there were people on the phone, driving through where the police officers are directing traffic. You know, people don't care around here. They need to start paying attention."

At least 2 people were rushed to Medical Center Hospital with unknown injuries after the crash.

Odessa Police, Fire and Rescue units and E.M.S. units responded to the wreck.

Police haven't said if anyone will get a citation for the crash.

As the passenger of the Titan, I would like to clear something up. My brother was driving, he was NOT on his phone. I was. He was not speeding. The truck we hit did not have its emergency flashers on and my brother thought it was moving. People should get the facts right before the comment to the news media and the media should verify statements before airing them.
