A new study released by the Transaction Records Access Clearinghouse (T.R.A.C.) found that Federal Judge Robert Junell sentenced 4,810 people between October of 2006 and July 2012.
In fact the 4,810 defendants sentenced represents the third highest amount of sentencings of any federal district court during the time period that the study was conducted in.
Federal district courts in Las Cruces, NM and McAllen had a higher number of people sentenced.
According to the study, courts near the Mexican border have higher caseloads, since the federal government has made an emphasis on cracking down on illegal immigration.
