BIG SPRING -- A former Big Spring church minister has been indicted for allegedly sexually abusing a young girl.

Samuel Lee Lyte was indicted on charges of continuous sexual abuse of a child, aggravated sexual abuse of a child, two counts of indecency with a child and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence on November 8th.

According to The Big Spring Herald, Lyte, 70, sexually abused a girl under the of 14 multiple times.

Lyte reportedly met while working as a youth minister at the Mount Bethel Baptist Church.

Lyte was fired from the church after the pastor's daughter gave him an inappropriate note she got from Lyte -- although it's unclear if the pastor's daughter was the victim.

Lyte was then arrested on October 22nd.

Lyte has also reportedly worked as a musician at the St. James Baptist Church in Odessa.

As of Monday, Lyte was being held in the Howard County Detention Center on $45,000 bond.
