ODESSA -- More apartments could be coming to the City of Odessa, and a major city thoroughfare will soon be improved.

Odessa city leaders approved the re-zoning of land off of Faudree Road and Bankhead Highway during Tuesday's Odessa City Council meeting.

Odessa officials say the move paves the way for a 300-unit apartment to be built on that plot.

The Odessa City Council also approved a reconstruction project for J.B.S. Parkway during Tuesday's meeting.

The project will improve J.B.S. Parkway between University Boulevard and East 42nd Street.

The reconstruction project carries a $3.3 million price tag. It's expected to start in March 2013, and scheduled to take about 120 days to complete.
