ANDREWS---  Shots were fired at the ALCO in Andrews on Wednesday evening, leaving residents with worry.

The DPS Criminal Investigation Agents were doing a narcotics investigation when Ashley Grado and Eric Carrasco identifies themselves.  Shortly after, they were placed under arrest.

The DPS says that Grado tried to take off in her car and tried to run the officers down.
Officers then opened fire and Grado got wounded.

Carrasco was then arrested and is now in the Andrews County Jail.

Since Andrews is a small town not usually known for violence, many people were talking about it the next day.

The manager of the famous Buddy's Drive-In in Andrews, Michelle Waters, says that she was in Midland when she heard about the shooting.

"My sister-in-law texted me and told me there was a shooting at Alco which is actually just a few blocks from my house" says Grado.

Being a mother of a 3-year-old, Waters was extra worried about her child's safety.

"I worry, I worry, I really do" says Waters.

The DPS officers that opened fire are now going to be placed on administrative leave while it's being investigated, which is standard procedure in a case like this.

The Texas Rangers will continue investigating the shooting.
