MIDLAND-- "I just saw people under the train," said Eservando Wisler who was a witness of Thursday's horrific accident. "There was blood. There was blood all over there."

Wislar and his 2 siblings say they saw the terrible train accident unfold right before their eyes.

"I heard a big car crash, and I came over here to see, and then there was a car accident," explained Wislar.

"I heard the noise," said Dearl Truex, who witnessed the accident 4 homes down from the train intersection. "It went floop. And I said, 'it sounds like somebody got hit.'"

Truex and his friend Brenda Nichols tell us they were watching the veterans drive by in the Hunt for Heroes parade.

"We saw them go by," said Truex. "Yeah, we waved at them."

The 2 say they could hear the horn of the approaching train but didn't see the guard rail come down to block the intersection.

"I didn't see the guardrail down," recalled Truex.

As emergency groups rushed to help the victims, several witnesses ran to the wreckage and tried to help any way they could.

"It's very sad," said Nichols. "I've said prayers with several people."

Aside from the overall shock of this accident, many say the worst thing of all is that these soldiers were already wounded in Afghanistan, and ended up wounded again, and worse.

"I just think it's sad because the soldiers have gone through enough," said Wislar.
