MIDLAND -- A Midland junior high student has been detained for allegedly bringing weapons to school.

Midland I.S.D. Police say that an 8th Grade student brought throwing stars to San Jacinto Junior High School in the Tall City on Monday.

M.I.S.D. Police reportedly found out about the weapons through a Crimestoppers tip around 11:15 AM Monday.

Police reportedly confiscated the weapons, and took the teenage boy who reportedly had them to the Barbara Culver Detention Center.

M.I.S.D. Police Chief David Colburn says that no one was in danger during the incident.

Now, the Midland County District Attorney's Office is looking at possible charges for bringing weapons to a prohibited place.

San Jacinto Junior High School officials will reportedly handle administrative penalties for the incident.
