West Texas Food Bank Has New Development Director

ODESSA - The West Texas Food Bank (WTFB) announced that Rodney Hall has begun work in the newly created position of Director of Development. Hall joins the Food Bank team in response to the nonprofit's growth and to help support future expansion. In this new role, Hall will be responsible for fundraising, board development and community awareness, among other duties.
"I initially met Rodney while serving on the board of Harmony Home and quickly realized how mission-driven he is. After he resigned from that position we were so excited to find out he was considering the Food Bank for his next career move," said Libby Campbell, Executive Director of the West Texas Food Bank. "Rodney's strengths are a passion for service combined with a strategic mind and terrific networking ability. These are all the qualities a Director of Development should embody and we are thrilled for the future of the West Texas Food Bank with him on board."
Hall most recently served as Executive Director of Harmony Home Child Advocacy Center, a nonprofit that supports children of abuse. There, Hall helped to provide leadership for a team providing services for over 450 victims of child abuse and their families per year, among other duties. Prior to Harmony Home, Hall's work included work at MHMR and CPS. He also has extensive nonprofit board experience, serving on the Board of Directors of the Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas and Chairing the Board's Executive Director's Committee, as well as work with Permian Basin Fair and Expo, United Way Odessa and many others.
"Rodney brings a wealth of experience helping families and children in the Permian Basin and we feel like he'll fit right in to our mission feeding hungry families, children and senior citizens," said Christopher Upton, WTFB Board President and Architect with Parkhill, Smith and Cooper in Midland. "The Board of Directors welcomes and appreciates his commitment to alleviating hunger in West Texas."
"Growing up we didn't have a whole lot, though we did have the things we needed, so working to help others has always been a passion of mine," Hall said. "What I really like about the Food Bank is what we mean to our community. Odessa is the place I've chosen to raise my children and I want this place to be the best it can be."

The West Texas Food Bank (WTFB) is a nonprofit, non-governmental hunger relief organization that distributes donated and purchased food through a network of Partner Agencies in 19 counties throughout West Texas. The WTFB supports the nutritional needs of children, families and senior citizens through strategic partnerships with civic and corporate groups, as well as private donors.
Founded in 1985, the WTFB is a member of Feeding America (feedingamerica.org), the nation's largest network of hunger relief organizations. In 2011, WTFB fed approximately 180,000 different people annually by providing almost nine million meals. Every dollar donated provides four meals for the hungry, and 95 cents of every dollar goes directly to feed hungry West Texans.
