MIDLAND -- A house caught fire in Midland Thursday evening.

The blaze broke out in the attic of a home in the 600 block of West Kansas Avenue around 8:40 PM Thursday.

Firefighters arrived on scene quickly, and they worked on ventilating the smokey home.

However, firefighters said the flames moved to a back bedroom as well -- and they were working to extinguish the blaze well into Thursday night.

There are no reports of any injuries from the fire, and no one was believed to be in the home at the time it caught fire.

The extent of the damage to the home was unclear Thursday night.

Firefighters on the scene said that electrical problems could be to blame for the fire.

However, the exact cause of the fire remained unknown Thursday night.
