MIDLAND -- In preparation for Black Friday shopping, Seven Eleven stores all over the country are trying to do their part to help out sleepy shoppers.

So from midnight Friday until 11:59 p.m. some Seven Eleven stores will be offering free cups of coffee with the purchase of a Red Bull Product. However, the rules for many stores in the Permian Basin are a little different. On top of the deal, money from the sale of those specialized disposable coffee cups will go toward a good cause.

It's not something you see often at your local gas station, but from now until December 31, money from those specialty cups will go toward "Cancer For College."

West Texan native Christina Hernandez said, she won't be shopping on Black Friday, but she'll definitely help the cause.

"If I have the chance to go out of my way a couple of dollars for a cup of coffee to me that's easy if I'm gonna drink coffee anyway," said Hernandez.

Cancer for College is an organization that provides financial aid scholarships to help cancer survivors attending college. The store chain teamed up with funny man Will Ferrell for this project.

"I got involved through my friend Craig Pollard. We're about to go on the 20th eyar of the charity," said Ferrell.

Through the campaign coffee drinkers will be able to buy limited edition specialty designed holiday hot beverage cups at Seven Eleven locations, and some of the proceeds will go toward Cancer for College.

"As a two time cancer survivor, a lot of people don't realize the strain it's put on families that have been cured and for families to put money away for college is not even realistic," said Cancer for College creator Craig Pollard. "So being able to create this awareness through seven eleven and help raise donations from the money seven eleven is giving us is just a huge reward to cancer survivors nationwide."

While Ferrell's name is connected to the product, his 5-year-old son Mattias Ferrell is the designer of the cups. The cups feature a smiling snowman and candy canes.

In the spirit of getting things first, west Texas Black Friday shoppers can be the first to help out this cause by fueling up on gas, and getting a free cup of Joe.
