Lamesa Man Sentenced To 25 Years In Prison For Stabbing

LAMESA -- A Lamesa man will spend the next 25 years in a Texas prison, after he was convicted for his role in an April stabbing.

    Raymond Ramos Maldonado pleaded guilty to aggravated assault on November 29th.

    According to The Lamesa Press-Reporter, Maldonado, 51, stabbed and cut 42-year-old Hector Hernandez in Lamesa in April.

    Since Maldonado reportedly had 6 prior felony convictions -- including a manslaughter conviction -- he faced a minimum of 25 years in prison.

    Maldonado reportedly got the minimum sentence for the first-degree felony since he agreed to a plea deal.
