By: News Release
Updated: December 4, 2012
The United Way of Midland has reached 81% of their campaign goal, according to Vice President - Operations and Engineering for Summit Petroleum Ryan Hamilton, who is serving as United Way Vice President Resource Development this year.  The campaign has raised $2,832,143 to date, as compared to $2,553,711 this time last year, Whitney Roland, Resource Development Campaign Director reported.

The goal for the 2012-2013 campaign is $3.5 million.  "The United Way of Midland campaign is still in full swing.  With the recent growth in population we are certainly seeing increased needs in our community and so we still need your support," said Whitney Roland, Resource Development Campaign Director.

The United Way of Midland helps fund 47 programs, provides community and technical assistance grants to local non-profits and supports two collaborative initiatives, The Whole Child and the XY-Zone.  The United Way utilizes over 200 volunteers to help raise funds that benefit more than 54,000 Midland County residents.

"This year we are offering a great way to benefit the community and finish your Christmas shopping by giving a gift that gives back," explained Donna Mahurin, Executive Director. Mahurin said that for a donation of $25 or more a holiday card will be sent to the recipient acknowledging your gift. "It is a great way to honor your boss, your co-workers, family members or anyone special this holiday season," Mahurin added.
