TOYAH -- The Town Hall meeting in the town of Toyah was supposed to discuss the scandal with their mayor, Bartolo Sanchez but was cancelled.

The evening was supposed to be held Tuesday evening, but got cancelled last minute.

The town of Toyah is still trying to figure out what to do next after Sanchez's recent arrest.

Bartolo Sanchez, the mayor of Toyah is currently facing federal charges potentially for one count of bank fraud, one count of wire fraud, and four  counts of aggravated identity theft.

The mayor allegedly wrote checks for close to $300,000, that came from an oil company to pay for road repairs.

The roads have not been fixed, and federal investigators say that Sanchez used the money as his personal bank account.

Business continued in Toyah on Tuesday evening with a city council meeting held by the interim mayor, Ramona Campos.

When asked to comment on the mayor scandal, Campos said "right now we are advised by our city attorney to make no comments".

A source tells Big 2 that the town hall meeting that was originally scheduled for today with County Attorney, Alva Alvarez was cancelled because she had a toy drive she could not miss, and says it should be rescheduled for Tuesday, December 18th.
