MIDLAND -- A Midland man is killed after his own S.U.V. lands on top of him during a rollover accident.

Midland Police say that Anthony Shaw was driving in the westbound exit lane of Loop 250 just east of Midland Drive around 5:45 PM on Tuesday when he got too close to some backed up traffic from the off-ramp in front of him.

Shaw, 55, swerved to avoid the line of cars, and the Explorer went off of the road. Shaw then overcorrected, causing the Explorer to roll over in the median near Crestway Lane.

Shaw was thrown from the Explorer during the crash, but the S.U.V. landed on top of him.

Shaw was rushed to Midland Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police say that Shaw wasn't wearing a seat belt.
