The attack at a Newtown, Connecticut elementary school that left 26 people dead has prompted some lawmakers to take action.

The office of New Jersey Senator Frank Lautenberg confirms that he plans to reintroduce legislation that would limit gun rights.

This legislation first appeared in 2011 after the shooting that killed six people and injured Representative Gabrielle Giffords in Arizona.

It would prohibit the sale of magazines that can hold 10 or more rounds of ammunition.

These magazines are similar to those used in Tucson and Newtown.

Senator Lautenberg is the second senator with plans to present gun control legislation.

Senator Diane Feinstein of California announced on Sunday that she will reintroduce an assault weapons ban when Congress reconvenes in January.
