MIDLAND COUNTY -- Some sagging power lines helped cause a fire near Midland on Wednesday.

Midland Northeast Volunteer firefighters tell Big 2 that wind gusts sent some power lines into each other near the intersection of Avalon Drive and Gladiola Avenue around 4:30 PM Wednesday.

Sparks from the collisions set some nearby grass on fire.

About an acre of land burned before firefighters could douse the flames.

No one was hurt in the fire, and no structures were damaged.
