MIDLAND -- Even as a 76 mile pipeline is being built to connect Midland to the T-Bar Ranch Water Well Field in Winkler and Loving counties, Midland officials are trying to design a well that might bring even more water to the Tall City.

The City of Midland is working with the Midland County Fresh Water Supply District Number 1 to design a well that would be used in the Capitan Reef Complex Aquifer in Reeves and Pecos Counties.

The Midland County Fresh Water Supply District, Number 1 still has to test the reef water to see how brackish it is.

If the water can be treated easily, it could provide Midland with an additional source of water.

For now, the $2 million project is on hold until January 2013.
