MIDLAND -- KXWT West Texas Public Radio 91.3 FM is sponsoring a one-hour concert featuring two classical artists from the Piatigorsky Foundation.

This intimate performance will be held at the Wagner Noel Performing Arts Center in Midland on Saturday, January 12 at 7:00 pm, featuring Katharine Dain as soprano and Jeffrey Grossman on piano. Through their musical performance and comprehensive commentaries, listeners will achieve an unparalleled understanding of the classical music pieces and composers.

The Piatigorsky Foundation is dedicated to making live classical music an integral part of everyday life for communities throughout the United States. Gregor Piatigorsky, the renowned Russian cellist for whom the organization is named, believed that music is not a luxury for an elite few, but a necessity of life for all.

West Texas Public Radio (KXWT "Across West Texas") is proud to sponsor this event. KXWT believes that public broadcasting is a vital community service that Odessa and Midland will stand up to support at the New 91.3 FM. KXWT 91.3 FM was relaunched last year with 4 times the signal power. The first official pledge drive for KXWT 91.3 FM is scheduled February 18-24, 2013.

Tickets to this special performance are available online at the Wagner Noel Performing Arts Center's website http://www.wagnernoel.com/history.php
