HOBBS, NM -- A masked man caused a scare at a Hobbs, NM movie theater over the weekend.

Hobbs Police say that a 27-year-old man was watching a movie at the Eagle 9 Theater around 7:30 PM on January 13th when he suddenly put a skill mask on his head and began to dance in front of the screen.

Other moviegoers thought the man might have been armed, so they quickly subdued him.

However, police say the man continued to act erratically until they showed up on the scene.

Police determined that the man didn't have a weapon, but he was suffering from mental health issues.

It's unclear if the man was taken into custody of not.
