The Midland Planning and Zoning commission denied a permit for Stone Bridge Estates on January 14th.
The manufactured mobile home park was supposed to be built on more than 46 acres near Fairgrounds Road and Tilden Street in eastern Midland.
If built, the complex would bring more than 200 housing units to the Tall City.
However, members of the Midland Planning and Zoning commission have said that the project isn't the best use of the land.
Midland city planners believe that the area isn't safe enough for the complex, and they add the the quality of life for the complex would be poor.
Furthermore, some Tall City planners believe that the land would be better served for commercial development.
However Freedom Influence L.L.C. -- which is running Stone Bridge Estates -- already owns the land the proposed complex will be built on.
The Midland Planning and Zoning Commission expects Freedom Influence L.L.C. to appeal their decision.
