FBI Director Robert Mueller visited Libya Thursday as investigators probe into the deadly September 11th attack on the U-S consulate there.

According to an FBI official, Mueller met with Libyan officials in Tripoli.

He did not visit Benghazi, whereU-S Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans were killed.

The FBI says Mueller's trip had been planned for some time and included discussion on other issues besides the investigation.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will testify on the Benghazi attack before House and Senate committees next week.
