MITCHELL COUNTY -- Two Oklahoma men and an Oklahoma teenager have been arrested, after the three got into a prolonged standoff at a Colorado City home.

Texas Department of Public Safety officials report that a SWAT team used a flash grenade to gain access to the home in the 100 block of Austin Street where the men were holed up around 12 AM Tuesday.

Police then moved in to arrest Myron McDonald Jr., Christopher Deshawn Johnson and a 16-year old boy.

McDonald, 22, Johnson, 24, and the teen had been engaged in a 10 hour standoff with law enforcement in the home before their arrest.

The standoff came nearly 12 hours after a shooting along a Mitchell County highway.

A trooper pulled over an Oklahoma-registered vehicle for speeding along Interstate 20 in Mitchell County around 6:20 AM Monday.

The vehicle was reportedly clocked going 109 miles an hour.

As the trooper came up to the vehicle, he reportedly noticed that there were 3 people in the vehicle.

At that point, the driver reportedly got out of the vehicle and fired 3 shots at the trooper.

The driver sped off eastbound at speeds above 100 miles an hour after the shooting, and the trooper took off after the car.

People in the vehicle reportedly fired at the trooper several times during the chase.

Fortunately, the trooper wasn't injured in the shooting.

The trooper lost the vehicle for a short time, but later found it abandoned near the intersection of Interstate 20 and F.M. 1230 in Nolan County.

Troopers later determined that the men involved in the shooting and chase were McDonald, Johnson and the teen.

Law enforcement then traced the suspects to the Colorado City home where the standoff took place.

Big 2's sister station KTAB-TV reported that a large law enforcement presence was visible near the intersection of 2nd Street and Austin Street in Colorado City around 5:30 PM on January 21st.

Suspects in the shooting were believed to be in a building near the intersection on Austin Street, and several law enforcement agencies blocked off the road so that a S.W.A.T. team could cut power to the home and move in to capture the suspects.

As of 8 PM, an armored truck had arrived on scene and a Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter was circling overhead.

However, it took until midnight for the SWAT team and other agencies to gain access to the home.

"The Texas Rangers had their S.R.T. team -- which is a group of Texas Rangers with specialized equipment that was very useful in this situation to have a peaceful resolution," said Senior D.P.S. trooper Sparky Dean.

Now, McDonald and Johnson -- who are both from Oklahoma City, OK -- are charged with attempted capital murder and felon in possession of a firearm.

McDonald is also charged with evading arrest.

Both McDonald and Johnson were being held in the Mitchell County Jail on Tuesday.

The teen -- who hails from Edmond, OK -- was taken to the Taylor County Juvenile Detention Center in Abilene.

Troopers say that the teen's charges are still pending.

The Texas Rangers are investigating the incident and their findings will be presented to the Mitchell County District Attorney's Office.
