AUSTIN -- Senator Kel Seliger has introduced a bill that could reform education in the Lone Star State.

Senate Bill 225 restructures graduation plans to a 26 credit model.

Sixteen credits would be required in core subject areas, including two years of a foreign language.

Ten elective credits would also be required.

Endorsements would also be earned by completing 5 credits in either humanities, business, human services, science, technology, engineering or math.

Finally, the Commissioner of Education could approve courses that count toward graduation requirements.
