Fog Sealing Project To Reduce Terrell County Road To One Lane

TERRELL COUNTY -- A fog sealing project has forced the partial closure of a Terrell County road.

TXDOT crews began a fog sealing project on 8 miles of R.M. 2886 in Terrell County on Thursday.

The project is expected to take about a week to complete.

While the project is ongoing, traffic will be reduced to one lane, which will alternate in directions.

Drivers will have to wait for a pilot vehicle to lead them through the work zone, and flaggers will be present on both ends of the work zone.

The project is designed to seal small cracks in the road surface.

Fog sealing work prevents the cracks from getting larger, which would allow moisture to seep into the base of the road.

TXDOT crews say that the project will prolong both the life of the road and the life of the asphalt.
